I don’t think so.
First, a disclaimer: yes, I am a fan of Star Trek and Stargate (both the SG-1 and the Atlantis series). And no, I’m not a crazy Trekkie who wears a Star Trek uniform in public.
Anyways, I was just watching the documentary DVD Universe over the weekend. It’s a little dated now (over 6 years old) but it was very well done and still fun to watch. One of the scientists who was interviewed said the following:
There are more stars in our universe than there are grains of sand on every beach on Earth. If you run your fingers through the sands on the beach and try to imagine just one of them being painted blue to represent the Earth and life on Earth, you’d have to be insane to think we’re the only ones here.
I like that quote.
This post infers that you wear a Trekkie uniform in private! Which one do you wear while watching Stargate?
Ha ha! Touchée! I should have qualified that statement… I don’t wear one in private either.
I’m sure I could find an online shop selling SG-1 fatigues if I wanted to. Thank God for the Internet! 😉
The physics of the universe (including the composition of the beach) is unlikely to have changed in the 6 years since that ‘dated’ show was broadcast
That’s true Vladimir. The only frustrating thing was that they discussed some ‘future’ missions that are now already completed and I want to know what discoveries were made from those missions. I guess I’ll have to google each of the mission names!
