There are plenty of great perks to being a leader in SEO. I travel to exotic locations to speak at conventions around the globe. I write books to share my knowledge with others (and get to call myself an author too). But one of my favorite parts of the job is hosting two weekly podcasts, Marketing Speak and Get Yourself Optimized.
Being a podcast host has given me the opportunity to meet dozens of fascinating people, expand my knowledge, and most of all, have fun and inspiring chats!
I’ve hosted the Marketing Speak podcast for over two years. In that time, I’ve interviewed over 125 experts on everything from digital marketing to social media to sales. Each of my guests has provided me and my listeners with invaluable new tools.
Today, I’m going to share some of my personal favorite episodes. Listen, download, and subscribe to get more great tips to take your marketing to the next level.
Making Money While You Sleep: Neil Patel (Episode 2)
Generally, being a digital marketing wizard won’t turn you into a celebrity. Neil Patel is the exception to that rule. Neil is the co-founder of amazing digital tools like Crazy Egg, Hello Bar and KISSmetrics. He’s a true expert and top influencer, so I was thrilled to book Neil for my second ever episode of Marketing Speak.
As expected, my conversation with Neil didn’t disappoint. He revealed valuable insights and explained how he launched several multimillion dollar businesses. You’ll learn how to build funnels, gain conversions, establish virality, and even dress for success.
Build Your Business with the Strength of the Parthenon: Jay Abraham (Episode 8)
This is not only one of my personal favorite episodes but one my listeners love as well. Jay Abraham is a marketing legend in his own right and is often revered as the “Godfather of marketing.” He also holds the distinction as my most popular Marketing Speak guest and was featured in my two most downloaded episodes of all-time.
If you’ve ever wanted to be an entrepreneur, close more sales, or raise your rates, this is the episode for you. Jay discusses how he was able to raise his consulting rate to $100,000 per day and the steps you can take to become a preeminent entrepreneur in your field.
Rank on Page One with Keyword Targeting and Link Building: Chloe Spencer (Episode 24)
Chloe Spencer is one of my favorite people and podcast guests. Yes, she is my daughter. But she’s also a young internet entrepreneur who started her first business at 14. She now works as an individual consultant in web development, SEO and social media.
Chloe is living proof that all you need to start a business is motivation and a willingness to learn. We discuss everything from ranking on page one of Google to targeting high value keywords to effective link building strategies. Chloe also details the importance of building a following, marketing on social media, and how to take advantage of the all-important “power users.”
Simplify SEO with Powerful Tools: Rand Fishkin (Episode 40)
Are you feeling bogged down by the time, systems, and tools required for SEO? There are so many on the market that finding the right tools for your business can seem like a Herculean task.
Listen to this episode with Rand Fishkin. Rand is a true SEO Wizard (seriously, his job title is “The Wizard of Moz”). We also discuss SEO for the “two-algorithm world” and a few extra tools to step up your marketing game.
Using SEO to Its Full Potential: Jay Abraham (Episode 62)
Back by popular demand, it’s esteemed guest Jay Abraham! In our first conversation, Jay shared his wisdom on building a business from the ground up. He returned a year later to flip the script and put me in the hot seat.
In our second interview, I share the breadth of my SEO knowledge and my own unique spin on finding success. You’ll learn about my favorite mediums, resources, and strategies in this free flowing conversation.
Making the Most of Your Facebook Ad Spend: Keith Krance (Episode 74)
It’s easy to identify social media as a marketing tool. It’s much more difficult to execute a social media campaign. Thankfully, Keith Krance is here to save the day whether you’re social media illiterate or truly savvy.
Keith is an author, CEO, and podcast host who oversees $1.5 million to $2 million per month in Facebook advertising spend. He dives into the nitty gritty and overlooked aspects of running a Facebook advertising campaign. He offers best practices, resources, and training to start taking control of your social media presence and turn it into big time conversions.

Let’s face it: cold calling sucks. Have you ever made a cold call? If you have, then you know just how uncomfortable, painful, and difficult it can be. But you don’t have to suffer through another pick up, hang up or meaningless conversation with a gatekeeper. Check out my interview with Nick Cownie instead.
Nick is an award-winning entrepreneur who specializes in rapid mindset change. You’ll learn how to embrace rejection, increase your conversion rates, and turn cold calls into warm cash. This is a must-listen for anyone looking to make more sales or more money.
